Work one-to-one with an IOWL Performance Partner to clarify what matters, identify what is getting in the way and convert reflection, judgement and intention into purposeful action.
Start with a Power Hour What is a Performance Partner?
A Performance Partner works with you to connect reflection with performance. The purpose is not simply to talk about goals or receive advice. It is to help you examine where you are now, understand what matters, think through the choices in front of you and translate that insight into deliberate action.
The relationship is grounded in Positive Value Leadership™ and the idea that sustainable performance depends not only on what you know and can do, but on the calibre of the judgement, conduct and choices through which capability and competency are applied.
Professional coaching standards matter. Coaching is delivered by ICF (International Coaching Federation) Professionally Certified Coaches, or coaches with equivalent recognised professional credentials, to help IOWL users identify personal values, strengths, priorities and goals.
The Power Hour is a structured, outcomes-focused coaching session, not a free discovery call or a disguised sales conversation. Before the session you complete a short reflection so your Performance Partner can begin with useful context rather than spend the hour gathering basic information.
The conversation focuses on goal discovery, priority setting and the practical next actions that can move you forward. Even if you decide not to continue with further sessions, the Power Hour is designed to leave you with something useful and usable.
Identify the issue, opportunity or aspiration that most needs your attention and separate it from the surrounding noise.
Translate broad ambitions into a small number of priorities that are realistic, relevant and worth acting upon now.
Leave with an immediate action that creates momentum rather than another list of intentions waiting for the right moment.
Reflect on strengths, pressures, patterns and possible blind spots that may be helping or hindering performance.
Shape one to three commitments that are specific and practical while remaining connected to what actually matters to you.
Decide for yourself whether a continuing Performance Partnership would add value. There is no obligation to continue.
Performance development is rarely about adding something completely new. Often it is about uncovering what is already there, examining it honestly, refining it in context and converting it into action. That is the role of the Performance Partnership.
Look beneath the surface of the immediate issue and identify what is really happening.
Bring out strengths, assumptions, concerns, ambitions and possibilities that may not yet be fully visible.
Examine what the evidence and your own experience are telling you before deciding what to do.
Turn broad intention into focused priorities, better choices and meaningful commitments.
Act, learn from the result and use that new insight to improve what comes next.
Performance does not sit apart from judgement, conduct or consequence. IOWL Performance Partners can use the Six Exemplars of Positive Value Leadership™ as lenses through which a situation, choice or goal can be examined more completely.
Consider integrity, trust, consistency and whether the way forward is one you can stand behind.
Examine effectiveness, resilience, judgement and your ability to turn intention into purposeful action.
Consider longer-term consequences, stewardship, sustainability and responsibilities beyond the immediate task.
Explore relationships, empathy, impact on others, trust and how to enable people rather than simply direct them.
Challenge assumptions, widen perspective and consider how a situation may look from viewpoints other than your own.
Think about contribution, collaboration, influence and how your actions can create constructive involvement around you.
Your job title is only one part of the context in which you perform. A Performance Partner can help you consider the circumstances surrounding an issue while remaining clear about what coaching is, and what it is not.
Clarify priorities, confidence, habits, energy, boundaries and the choices that affect how effectively you show up and perform.
The focus is on reflection, decision-making and practical action.
Work through communication, difficult conversations, team expectations, collaboration, influence and sources of friction.
The objective is better judgement and more constructive interaction.
Performance Partners provide coaching, not medical or mental-health treatment, legal advice or regulated financial advice.
Where a matter falls outside coaching scope, the appropriate next step is specialist professional support.
The Power Hour stands on its own. If further coaching would be useful, you can continue with the same Performance Partner or an appropriate matched partner through additional sessions. Your Performance Partner may recommend what could help, but the decision to continue, the pace and the number of sessions remain yours.
Use one Power Hour to work through a specific decision, transition, challenge or opportunity and leave with a clearer next step.
Use a short series of sessions to review action, learn from what happens and keep priorities moving rather than allowing intention to fade.
Use coaching when context demands it as part of the wider discipline of Perpetual Calibre Development™, not because development has a fixed end point.

Key points about the Power Hour, confidentiality, continuing sessions and eligibility.
No. It is a paid, structured coaching session designed to produce useful outcomes in its own right. You may decide afterwards that one hour was enough. There is no requirement to buy further sessions.
You complete a short pre-session reflection covering the issue or opportunity you want to explore and what you hope to achieve. This allows the Performance Partner to begin the conversation with useful context and make better use of the hour.
The coaching conversation is treated as confidential within the applicable Performance Partner terms and professional boundaries. Information may still need to be handled where disclosure is required by law, safeguarding obligations or other defined exceptions set out in the applicable terms.
Performance Partner coaching is for IOWL users aged 18 or over. Aspirants and certified members can access IOWL benefit rates through their My World relationship, while a direct public Power Hour rate is also published.
No. The Power Hour is the one-time entry point and is designed to be useful by itself. If a continuing Performance Pathway would add value, your Performance Partner may discuss that with you, but the decision to continue and the number of further sessions remain yours.
Further paid sessions arising from an IOWL Performance Partner introduction are arranged and paid through IOWL and charged in line with the published Performance Sessions Hourly Fee schedule shown above. The applicable career-stage fee is confirmed before each further session is booked.
