Once activated, the Aspirant Stratum gives learners a practical, no-fee starting point for Positive Value Leadership, calibre awareness and Perpetual Calibre Development before any individual chooses a certified pathway.

Cornerstone - an early employability step
In approximately three hours, a learner can move from becoming familiar with Calibre to understanding why it matters in recruitment, work and performance, and how to begin evidencing the judgement and conduct that sit alongside knowledge and skills.

Recognised Statement
Successful completion of the Cornerstone Recognition Assessment leads to the Statement of Calibre Awareness and Development Intent™. It gives students an early way to explain the difference between what they know, what they can do, and how they intend to develop the way they exercise judgement and responsibility.
The Statement is supported by an employer and HR guide explaining what the recognition means, how it should be interpreted, and how it differs from the stronger assessed Calibre Credits™ recognition.
Optional pathway: Cornerstone is not automatically included with Aspirant activation. University partners may choose to fund or provide it as an account-specific learner benefit. The Statement records awareness and development intent; it does not award Calibre Credits™ or certify a level of personal Calibre.
These are learner-facing resources rather than a separate institutional portal. Availability, naming and emphasis may evolve as IOWL expands the Aspirant Stratum; the My World account remains the foundation from which learners can later choose certified pathways.

University Partner Benefit
Reduced course fees when you choose to progress
University-onboarded learners can receive partner course offers that reduce the published fee on eligible IOWL pathways. These offers are allocated to the individual learner through their account and applied to the relevant registration; they are not a general discount available to people who create a direct Aspirant account independently.
How the student access route works
Under the partnership route, IOWL creates the learner accounts from the agreed population record. Each learner then activates their existing account, gains lifelong Aspirant Stratum access and can explore calibre, integrity and Positive Value Leadership before making any separate decision about a formal pathway.
What learners need
Open to anyone beginning their IOWL journey. This is a no-fee, non-certified learner access route. It provides access to introductory My World resources and does not require tutorials, examination or formal assessment. It does not award Calibre Credits, professional standing or post-nominals.

IOWL Positive Value Leadership courses are delivered online as a structured, personal journey of self-propelled learning, reflection and transformation. The course is not taught entirely through live tutorials.
Learners work through guided Smartboard learning, reflective activities, coursework and, where applicable, assessment. The Smartboard introduces the course concepts, frameworks and activities that each learner is expected to study, consider and apply to their own life, leadership and professional practice.
Live, interactive virtual tutorials support and deepen this personal learning journey. They provide opportunities to explore key ideas, discuss experiences, ask questions, test understanding and reflect with tutors and other learners. Tutorials reinforce the learning process, but they do not replace the Smartboard learning, personal reflection or coursework.
Positive Value Leadership is designed to be transformative, not merely informational. Transformation develops over time through honest reflection, purposeful action and the practical application of learning. It cannot be achieved simply by attending tutorials or passively receiving information.
Before and during the course, learners receive induction, clear instructions, important dates, advance guidance and reminders. Each learner is then expected to familiarise themselves with the platform, follow the instructions provided, manage their own progress and navigate to the appropriate learning activities and live events.
This approach reflects the principle of “Integrous Agency” at the heart of Positive Value Leadership: taking personal responsibility for one’s own development, acting purposefully and approaching the course with a “can-do” attitude and, ideally, an “it’s done” attitude.
Aspirant Stratum access is currently provided to the learner at no fee. University partnership arrangements concern whole-population account creation, activation and implementation rather than charging the student for Aspirant access.
