The impact of Leadership affects us all; the footprint of Leadership permeates throughout time and society. History is littered with examples of Leaders with good intent and others intent on malice; but the common trait of all effective leaders is the ability to inspire and acquire a following.

Leadership isn't just confined to the workplace, yet this is where most novice leaders cut their teeth, Leaders have the potential to change the world from humble beginnings.

We promote the adoption of Positive Value Leadership™ and develop Leaders who are an exemplar to society and a catalyst for the adoption of social change for the benefit of all humanity.

We will continue to develop and support internationally minded Leaders who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world through strong, positive Leadership.

You will qualify for membership of The Institute of One World Leadership if you are in, or aspiring to hold, a position of power*, authority or responsibility. The position could be one in a work environment, private or public sector; in social, voluntary or community circles; political or governmental spheres.

Membership is dependent on your successful assessment against the One World Leadership, "Positive Value Leadership" map, which will indicate how effective you are as an exemplar to society and a catalyst for the adoption of positive change (commercial, economic, social or political) for the benefit of all humanity.

If you do not yet meet the minimum requirements of the assessment, you can still attain affiliate membership by subscribing and adhering to the aims of One World Leadership. You will also be expected to pursue a development path that will enable your proficiency to achieving a future assessment.

* Positions of power include, but are not limited to, Reward Power, Coercive Power, Referent Power, Legitimate Power, Expert Power, Informational Power.

Qualifications only go part of the way to demonstrate to employees, employers, peers and colleagues that you can undertake a role as a manager or leader. What is more difficult to demonstrate is the tangible impact you have due to your intangible attitudes and values.

Consider your Leadership or Management qualification as a tool; as a hammer. Certification and membership of the Institute of One World Leadership will convey to others HOW you will use the hammer, whether you will use it in a constructive manner, or in a destructive manner; either in collaboration or isolation.

This is a Life Changing Investment. Membership of IOWL is not a cost, but an endowment that will increase your Lifetime Earnings. Membership of IOWL is not guaranteed. It is only awarded to those who prove and demonstrate that they possess the Values and Capability of a person who can make a real difference to the world as a leader. These are traits that are sought out by employers, and will make you stand out from others who do not possess membership.

No. Possessing a management or leadership qualification does not automatically mean you can attain membership. You will still need to undertake the OWLs Positive Value Leadership Assessment, which will determine your capability as a positive leader.

No. A managerial position is not an indicator of leadership ability. The title of Manager can be used for many roles, e.g. technical or specialist; as can the title 'Director' or similar. Holding such a position or title is not a guarantee that a person possesses the traits of a One World Leader.

You will still need to undertake the OWLs Positive Value Leadership Assessment, which will determine your capability as a positive leader, and consequentially, your grade of membership.

Membership is an annual contract and membership fees are non-refundable. You have 14 days from your payment being processed in which to change your mind and cancel the agreement. If you choose to cancel your membership within 14 days from your payment being processed and have used any of our products or services, we will deduct the value of these products and services from the membership fees paid.

Do I need to be in a Leadership or Managerial role to apply for membership?

How long does the application process take?

Depending on the level of membership you are applying for, membership can take from 1 week to 4 weeks.

When can I start to use my membership designation?

As soon as you receive confirmation from the membership department.
