IOWL confirms participation in 2026 OECD Global Forum on Productivity conference

BELFAST, 28 August 2026 The Institute of One World Leadership (IOWL) has confirmed virtual participation in the 2026 Annual Conference of the OECD Global Forum on Productivity, taking place on 5-6 October in San José, Costa Rica.

The conference, hosted by the Central Bank of Costa Rica and the OECD, will explore the theme From Gaps to Growth: Unlocking Productivity Across the Economy and bring together policymakers, academics and civil-society representatives.

Education, Integrity and Productivity

For IOWL, the conference extends a sequence of OECD forum engagement across three areas connected by the Institute's developing Calibre proposition. IOWL participated in the OECD Future of Education and Skills forum in 2025 and the OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum in March 2026. The Global Forum on Productivity now provides a setting in which to examine the performance implications of the same underlying human question.

IOWL's proposition is that Capability and Competency are essential but may not fully explain whether productive resources are exercised dependably. The Institute is examining whether the quality of judgement, integrity, responsibility and values-led agency also affects the conversion of productive capacity into productive performance.

Earlier this month IOWL prepared an executive briefing, Calibre and Productive Performance, setting out that proposition as a research question rather than as an established economic variable. The October conference will provide further context for comparing IOWL's work with established productivity research and policy discussion.
