IOWL protection notice: IOWL Learning Governance Architecture™ is identified by the Institute of One World Leadership as protected IOWL intellectual property. Descriptive reference with proper attribution is different from adoption or appropriation. Third parties must not present the term as their own branded framework, programme, credential, product, service or proprietary concept, or reproduce or adapt the associated IOWL content, without written authorisation.
Definition
IOWL Learning Governance Architecture™ is the proprietary IOWL architecture through which learning access, engagement, progression, reflection, participation, learning assurance and readiness are brought together within the IOWL learning environment. It is implemented through My World and the IOWL Learning Smartboard.
Relationship to the IOWL architecture
The architecture is an implementation layer supporting delivery and assurance within the wider Calibre Development Triad™, particularly the Curriculum and Calibre Assurance Framework™ and Perpetual Calibre Development™. It does not replace the CCF, PCD or the underlying Positive Value Leadership™ framework. Protection concerns IOWL's original software, workflow design, decision logic, data relationships, visual arrangements and the particular way these elements operate together; it does not claim ownership of generic LMS functions such as dashboards, chapter access or progress reporting in isolation.
Usage guidance
- Use the full title IOWL Learning Governance Architecture™ when referring to the protected IOWL system architecture; IOWL Learning Smartboard may be used descriptively for the learner-facing environment.
- Authorised access to an IOWL Learning Smartboard or demonstration does not confer permission to benchmark, reverse-engineer, derive functional specifications from, reproduce or use that access to commission an imitation of the protected IOWL workflow architecture.
- Do not reproduce or disclose unpublished calculations, weighting logic, thresholds, progression rules, data relationships or implementation methods without written authorisation.
- Institutional integration, licensing or use of the architecture within another LMS, learning platform or software service requires a written IOWL agreement.
